"You have been such a support for BB and I know parents have commented on the change they have witnessed in BB both at home and in school.
During the time you were working with BB his attendance went from 62% to 90%!
A massive thank you once again! "
"I would like to feedback and thank you for how the Positive Future Youth Programme has benefited my granddaughter greatly.
She is calmer and happier in her everyday life, and is coping well with challenging situations now, as she has developed her insight into problem behaviours, and the skills she can use to manage them more effectively.
She has also improved her conflict resolution skills, and openly reflects on her emotional state during varying situations, and she is more empathetic to others’ emotions, thoughts and reactions. She is more content and happier to discuss her emotions and she is aware that she has a voice and feels more confident to express them. The programme has been a positive influence on her emotional state.
Thank you."
"I was initially sceptical about participating with the course as I was frightened of what would happen, the fear of the unknown.
I have previously had counselling sessions with other people which left me feeling deflated, angry and in short, an emotional wreck.
This course is totally different. From the very first session I felt lighter and like a load had been removed off my shoulders. I was taught a technique to help aid my emotional state when I was in distress and in the days that followed I regularly used this technique alongside with the realisation I had to challenge my own thoughts to change my behaviours.
My son is also making such amazing progress on the programme and is highly motivated and engaged He comes home eager to discuss what he’s learnt and wants to help teach his siblings (and myself!) how to manage their emotions in a positive and productive way.
From the very first telephone call with her she put both myself and my son at total ease. She is warm and genuinely caring. You leave a session feeling like you have accomplished something and feel motivated and equipped to deal with what’s to come. I look forward to my sessions and when she calls, I smile because she just has an air of joy around her which is infectious!
I could not comprehend where we would be without the techniques that we are learning and using on a daily basis.
We are just so grateful that we were accepted onto the programme. Words will never be enough to express our gratitude."
"Since my son started sessions with WFP his mood and attitude have improved dramatically.
He is now in a good place having been listened to and equipped with strategies to support his mental well-being.
My son had not been attending school and was starting to isolate himself and was struggling to trust people.
The facilitator’s approach was gentle and patient. Just what my son needed. She took the time to work with him, even visiting him when he felt he couldn’t cope with zoom sessions.
The facilitator’s calm manner encouraged my son to explore different grounding techniques enabling him to start attending school again, and now he’s in a great place."
"I wanted to give you some feedback in relation to the support and intervention a family I have worked with received from R.
When I referred the young person to your service, she was extremely difficult to engage. Her behaviour both at home and in school were of grave concern. Initially R carried out virtual sessions with the young person at home, during which it proved difficult to engage the young person. It was decided it may be more effective if the sessions took place during school hours. Since making this change the young person has been fully engaged in all sessions and as a result it appears her behaviour at home and in school have improved.
Mum also took part in sessions with R and from her feedback, she informs she found the sessions to be extremely beneficial to her. Mum informs she was very emotional when her sessions with R ended.
The interventions your service provide are invaluable to our families, long may it continue."
